Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry "Let no one look down on you because of your youth, but be a continuing example of love, faith, and purity to the believers."
~ 1 Timothy 4:12

What exactly is Youth Ministry??? It is sad to say the even the most seasoned veterans of Youth Ministry may not know what CYM is actually all about. While many may know Mother Jeanne's famous "F Words"; Food, Fun, Friends, and Faith, many do not know what the actual key to the Youth Ministry experience is. What exactly is CYM???

Youth Ministry Components Advocacy
Community Life
Justice, Peace & Service
Evangelization
Leadership Development
Catechesis
Pastoral Care
Prayer & Worship
Youth Ministry "F" Words

Food: We remember that the Eucharist is the ultimate nourishment.
Fun: We can build a sense of joyful Catholic Community to fill the hole in their soul and invite them to belong.
Friends: Church activities can be a "safe" place to find youth and adults of same moral values.
Faith: (The bottom line!) Catechesis will be the diocesan emphasis formation to replace Confirmation with a plan to develop an "informed conscience".

Youth Ministry may be about all of the above components, but the most important aspect of the experience is missing from the list.... YOU! Without the Youth participating and sharing in the Body of Christ together, there wouldn't be much to CYM would there???? So it's up to you, take the next step, and discover just how great CYM really is...
